BOARD OF MANAGEMENT

The Mundaring Arts Centre Inc. volunteer board (Management Committee) are elected annually at the AGM. The 2024 – 2025 committee draws on our community with experience in visual and performing arts, governance, finance, risk management and community practice.  Subcommittees consisting of experts in a variety of arts, education, community development, health and finance fields also assist in developing MAC Inc.’s arts and culture program.

 

Darrell Jones | Chairperson

He/Him

Darrell has a long association with MAC Inc. and holds an enduring appreciation for the way arts and culture contribute to the fabric of society.

He is an experienced non-executive director, contributing to organisations with a strong sense of purpose. To fulfill the Vision of MAC Inc, he understands the importance of a clear organisational strategy, ethical governance, and sound business model.

After a diverse career, Darrell now teaches part-time at Curtin University in the subject areas of Corporate Governance, Corporate Strategy, Economics, Risk Management, and Strategic Management.

He has a Bachelor of Economics, a Graduate Certificate in Marketing, and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Shauna willett | Deputy Chairperson

She/Her

Shauna is a Designer and Arts Mentor with over 20 years’ professional experience working in architecture, interior design, master planning and property advisory projects in WA, SA and Victoria.

With broad experience over a range of portfolios, including Education, Health, Science & Research, Retail, Office & Industrial and Public and Performing Arts Projects.

Shauna is passionate about the integration of Artist's work within the built environment and creating a strategic alignment with organizational strategy that delivers cross functional collaboration in Art, Architecture and Design.

Shauna has completed a Bachelor of Design from University of South Australia.

Sam Lequaietermaine | Treasurer

Sam brings significant experience from a career spanning the health sector, both in Australia and the United Kingdom, and more recently in the Commonwealth and Western Australian public service. Currently, he works for the Department of Treasury, overseeing a team of budget analysts and partnering with WA Government Agencies and Trading Enterprises to provide strategic policy advice and ensure sound financial management.

Having recently returned to live once again in Perth’s Hills, Sam believes that strong community organisations underpin strong communities and is excited to contribute to the work of MAC Inc.

Sam has a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy and Master of Science in International Health and has recently completed the Australian Institute of Company Directors Foundations of Directorship Course.

Rebecca Banks | Secretary

She/Her

Bec developed a passion for the arts at a young age, which led her to complete a Bachelor of Arts through Edith Cowan University, graduating in 2011. Since then, she has worked in numerous not-for-profit organisations, all with a health and mental health focus, and is currently the Administration Manager at Consumers of Mental Health WA, the peak body in Western Australia for individuals living with mental health challenges.

Combining her love of arts, skills in governance, finance, risk management, and having an appreciation for how the arts can improve mental and physical wellbeing, Bec has a genuine desire to contribute and make a difference to an organisation aligning with her own values.  

Simon homsany

Simon offers financial and accounting expertise to MAC Inc along with a passion for the not-for-profit sector.

Currently working as a tax associate at a ‘Big 4’ consulting firm, he focuses on building trust with a range of stakeholders and wants to bring those experiences to the arts scene. Simon has been involved in several committee roles across sport and community organisations.

Simon holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance) from the University of Western Australia and is a Provisional Member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

Sherylle Dovaston

Sherylle Dovaston is a practising artist with experience in artist collaborations and exhibitions, and runs a small arts-based business with her husband. She has close connections to the communities around Mundaring and Midland, and has participated in arts events at MAC and MJAC.

Following a diverse career that encompassed community and human services in senior positions, Sherylle is now able to re-focus her strategic planning, community building, and networking skills, and combine them with her arts background to assist the MAC Inc board in delivering better art experiences. Sherylle appreciates the transformative power of the arts in enriching lives and bringing people together, and is invested in fostering inclusivity and diversity in the arts community.

Sherylle holds a Bachelor of Science (Health) and a Grad Cert in Humanities, and is currently working towards a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art and Visual Culture). She is an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management, and has served on a number of boards, committees and advisory groups.

 

NATALIE DE ROZARIO

She/They

Natalie de Rozario (She/They) is a visual artist, an arts worker and a sessional academic tutor. Natalie’s practice is emotive and explores gender and cultural identity through an anti-colonial settler ideology. Her passion for the arts has led to opportunities such as completing a Bachelor of Arts (Art & Design Studies) from Curtin University in 2014, studying art at Kingston University, London, winning the City of Canning Resident Art Award 2022 and being a finalist in several awards such as 2023 Lester Prize, Town of Claremont Art Awards 2021, City of Belmont Art Awards 2021 and South Perth Emerging Artist Award 2019. She has also exhibited in multiple group exhibitions including at the University of Canberra, the Moores Building of Contemporary Art, the Naval Store and Nysiztor Studio.

Natalie has also completed a Master of Commerce (Marketing) degree at Curtin University and is a sessional tutor at the University of Western Australia Business School. She has had arts administration experience in the not-for-profit arts sector, Lawrence Wilson Arts Gallery and is currently the Communications Officer at Regional Arts WA. As a dedicated member of the arts community, she is excited to contribute to the continued growth and development of MAC.
