MAC Inc. invites our artistic Members to reflect on the nature of adornment to create exquisite and intriguing works for the end of year exhibition at Mundaring Arts Centre.
Since the earliest known use of the word adornment over 800 years ago, it has been synonymous with embellishment and as a device to define the cultural, social and religious values of a specific community.
Celebrating the ability to transform the ordinary - bringing beauty, individual expression and to attract attention, the theme is designed to encourage artists to submit works that express their interpretation of the word through multi-media, textile, jewellery, embellishments for the home or 2D artforms.
We look forward to receiving submissions from our creative community that express the long history of adornment by diverse cultures around the world, with artisans retranslating items from their environment to mark status, reflect value or respond to cultural stories.
